       Top two both win

The top two both tasted victory in the Pitching In Southern League Division One
       South last week.
Leaders, Wimborne Town, had a late brace from Harry Morgan to thank for their
hard-earned 2-1 win at Bristol Manor Farm. The home side took the lead early
on through Ben Bament before Morgan stepped up with goals in the 80th and 90th
       minutes.
The Cribbs story continues as they went to Bemerton Heath Harlequins and
won 3-0 thanks to two goals from Ross McErlain and a debut strike from Leighton
       Thomas.
Third-placed Frome Town went down to a 3-2 defeat Mousehole where the
home side raced into a three-goal lead thanks to quick fire early goals from Mitchel
Beardmore and Hayden Turner, who then went on to grab his second of the
afternoon early in the second period.
The visitors refused to let their heads drop and Roy Simpson was able to reduce
the arrears before Samuel Meakes’ goal with ten minutes to go set up a tense
       finale.
Bashley and Evesham United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. The goals came
within stoppage time at the end of the opening period as Luke Delaney put the
hosts ahead only for Amer Awadh to level matters and keep his side just inside the
       play-off zone.
Hot on their heels are in-form Yate Town who had another convincing win as they
beat Melksham Town 4-1. That man, Nick McCootie set them on their way with
another goal to add to his tally, before Calum English-Brown put them two goals to
the good. Ralph Graham pulled one back before the break but Finley Bell and Oliver
Jenkins added further goals for the hosts in the second half.
There was plenty of entertainment at Westbury United as they shared eight
goals with Bishops Cleeve. Harvey Flippance put the home side ahead only for
Ethan Dunbar to hit back. Ryan Bole restored the hosts’ advantage going into the
interval but straight after the restart, Ben McLean levelled the scores once more.
The pendulum swung in the favour of the away side when Toby Holland put them
ahead on the hour, but Jasper Jones hit back to make it 3-3. It looked as though
Ross Langworthy had won it for Cleeve when he scored with just two minutes to
go, however, Jones notched his second of the afternoon in the first minute of
stoppage time to earn a share of the spoils.
Malvern Town were convincing winners against Exmouth Town as two goals
from Jack Watts, including a penalty, plus a well-taken free-kick from Matt
MacDonald earned them a 3-0 success, whilst Larkhall Athletic beat Willand
Rovers 2-1. Matt Bowman set them on their way but his goal was cancelled out
by Charlie Wright in the second half before Harvey Pritchard popped up with the
       winner.
The day’s other game saw Tavistock secure an important three points in their
battle with Paulton Rovers. Joseph O'Loughlin and Liam Prynn put them two
goals in front in the opening 20 minutes and although Jamarni Langlais pulled one
back early in the second period, that was to be the end of the scoring.
