WELCOME
Good afternoon and welcome to this afternoon's FA Cup tie versus Tiverton Town. May we
extend a very warm welcome to the visiting management, players, club officials and
supporters who have made the relatively short trip up the M5 for our second meeting in
three days. We hope you enjoy your visit and wish you a safe journey home.
Ahead of any discussion on football it is only appropriate that Yate Town FC joins the nation
in mourning the very sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She served our nation
for 70 years with unrivalled grace, dignity and purpose and the thoughts of everyone at the
club are with the Royal Family at this time. Among all of the tributes being paid to the late
Queen it is perhaps the statement by His Majesty King Charles III that is most poignant:
"The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest
sadness for me and all members of my family. We mourn profoundly the passing of a
cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout
the country, the Realms and the commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.
During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained
by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held".
There will of course be a minute’s silence before kick off.
Off the field you will be aware that over the summer we held two notable fundraising events.
The Good Times on the Pitch entertainment series and the Manchester United Legends
match were very well supported and enjoyed by those that attended, thank you. The money
raised has placed the club in a financially secure position to support the team through 22/23
season. In addition there is discussion ongoing with the company developing the housing
around the ground to assist with our stadium improvements. You can read more on our

For the second Saturday in a row we host FA Cup football at the South West Interiors
stadium. Two weeks ago we saw an exciting but very nervy win as we progressed into
today's second qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup narrowly beating Aylesbury Vale
Dynamos by a single goal. The Spartan South Midlands League visitors came very close to
taking the tie to a second meeting. Ollie Mehew, the go-to man in most of our attacks and
