A Word from the Chairman….
Good afternoon and welcome to the
Players, Officials and Supporters of
Wells City Football Club. We hope they
enjoy their visit to BBS Park the home
of Mendip Broadwalk and have a safe
journey home this evening.
After a perfect August, we’ve started
September very well too.
2 weeks ago we played Nailsea and
Tickenham Reserves in the County
Cup. Although the score of 2-1 looks
like it was a close game, we should have probably won 7-1. However, a
win none the less and we are in the hat for the next round.
And last weekend we played Chard Town in the league. We were missing
a few key players but still felt we had a strong squad. A very eventful
game with drawing 2-2 but we should have won comfortably with the
chances we had.
Todays game in the Premier and First Division Cup is another welcome
break from league action and it’s a great chance for us to keep our good
run going.
Wells City Reserves have started the season well in the league so we
expect todays cup game to be another tough test.
You will notice work continues to improve the facility and BBS Park to
bring us inline with Western League standards. The ambition of the club
is to achieve this sooner rather than later. Only time will tell if we have
the squad and the facility. As always we’ll be giving it everything !!
Hopefully see you in the bar after for a chat about todays game..
