Welcome to the Lancer Scott Stadum
Good afternoon & welcome to the Lancer
Scott stadium for this afternoon’s visit of
Bemerton Heath Harlequins for this FA Vase
1st round cup tie. I hope their supporters,
officials and players enjoy the day with us
and have a safe journey home. We also
extend a warm welcome to the Wessex
League chairman, Nick Spencer.
Bemerton are based in Salisbury and play in
Division 1 of the Wessex League with
promotion to their Premier Division firmly in
their sights as they are unbeaten this season,
in fact winning 10 of their 11 league games. So we will be in for a very tough
and hopefully entertaining game. To my knowledge this is the 1st ever
meeting of the 2 sides, in fact we haven’t played anyone from the Wessex
League in the 11 years I‘ve been here. Bemerton have played 1 qualifying
game in the competition so far this season, beating Toolstation Western
League division 1 side Sherborne 6-3.
To remind you we have played 2 qualifying games so far, beating Hellenic
League side Stonehouse 2-0 thanks to goals from Leon Clayton Clarke and
Joe Bishop. Then we made the short but very enjoyable trip to Brislington to
win 2-1 with goals from Connor Hartley and Sam Price.
Next Saturday we are away to Helston and we are running a 50 seater coach
(with toilet) at a subsidised price £10 per head, we have had a good response
but there are spaces for supporters, please see me for seats. See below for
pick up points.
Thank you for your support today, enjoy the game, please respect the
officials.
