Good afternoon and a Merry Christmas to all
       our loyal supporters.

Last Saturday’s deserved 2-0 home win
against Hallen capped off all the hard work
the lads have put in since returning from
lockdown. Our fitness levels were excellent
on the day; of course there were elements
of ‘ring rust‘ - that’s to be expected, but the
longer the game went on the stronger and
better we became. Apart from an 11 a side
training match which only lasted 45 minutes,
we haven’t played a competitive game since
the 31st October, instead choosing to
concentrate on our fitness levels and play
small sided games to improve our
       sharpness.

As debuts go, Callum Baker and Jamie Gregory’s could not have gone
better, Callum winning us a penalty then scoring our second and Jamie
looking assured at the heart of our defence, which kept a clean sheet. We
were especially pleased with our organisation and communication,
something we were conscious we had to improve. We had to be patient as
Hallen set up to take a point after their sending off, they made life difficult
condensing the space and sitting deep, but Callum’s sharp turn in the box
and the subsequent penalty from Metts saw us deservedly break the
       deadlock!

We hope to see Jordan Anstey
                                               back in training soon, joining
                                               Steff Lee in their rehabilitation,
                                               but unfortunately Mike (Gristy) is
sidelined due to a series of
                                               niggling injuries since returning
                                               from lockdown.
Thank you for your support and
again on behalf of us all, Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year
(surely it’s got to be better than
                                               2020)!
