Records were shattered in the Second Round on Sunday when
Newcastle Utd beat Barnsley in front of an astonishing attendance
of 28,565 at St James Park, the highest attendance for a match in the
competition outside of a Final. Barnsley got off to a great start and
took a first half lead through Emily Pierrepont but after the break, two
goals in a four minute spell from Georgia Gibson and Sharna Wilkinson turned the match around
and gave Newcastle the win.
Next up for Newcastle will be another home tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers
who eased into the Third Round with a 5-0 victory over Northampton Town. Jade Cross and
Tammi George put Wolves two ahead at half time and they went on to add further goals after the

Dawson hit a hat-trick in reply for plucky 'Boro, with Jessica Whitaker adding the other.

eight times without reply. Phoebe Warner led the scoring with a hat-trick, whilst the others came
from Hannah George, Mariam Mahmood, Shannon Stamps, Sophie Tudor and Kerry Walklett.
Four first half goals took Liverpool Feds to a 4-0 victory in their derby tie against
Merseyrail Ladies and they will host West Bromwich Albion in the next round. Rosie Kinvig
netted twice in quick succession for the Feds and she was joined on the scoresheet by Ellie Stewart
