In midweek, AFC Wimbledon were 2-0 winners over Actonians Ladies who hold
on to fourth place as Queen's Park Rangers shared a 1-1 draw with Enfield Town,
who grabbed an injury time equaliser through Beth Powell. Cambridge Utd and Stevenage
Women shared a goalless draw and London Seaward won 2-0 at Kent Football Utd.
Division One South West
An injury time equaliser saw leaders Cheltenham Town held to a 1-1 draw by
Southampton Women. Cheltenham took the lead early in the second half through
Lacy-Jai Liggett but they were pegged back when Lucy Mear grabbed a last gasp leveller
(see match report).
AFC Bournemouth have narrowed the gap on Cheltenham to two points, thanks
to a 3-0 victory away to Portishead Town. Becki Bath gave the Cherries a first half lead
which was doubled on the stroke of half time by Katie James. Lucy Cooper completed the
scoring with the third goal in injury time.
Excter City kept their hopes alive with a 3-1 success at Chesham Utd. Mollie
Taylor, Zoe Watkins and Sarah Stacey were the markswomen for Exeter, with Chesham's
reply coming from Gemma Fraser.
Swindon Town continue to finish the season in good form and were 3-0 winners
over Poole Town. All of the goals came in the first half, Rianne Bourne-Hallet giving
Swindon the lead before they added further goals through Annabelle Colston and Victoria
Taylor.
On Wednesday night, Exeter City moved into third place with a 2-0 victory away to
Larkhall Athletic. Mollie Taylor scored a goal in each half for Exeter who still have a
mathematical chance of winning the title and still have to play the top two teams.
Reserve Section round-up...
Southampton FC Women carried off the Reserve Cup with a 4-0 win against West
Bromwich Albion in the Final at Redditch. Megan Collett gave Southampton the lead
and Kaylee Buckingham added a second just before half time. Emilie Castagna netted the
third and Jess Tanner rounded off the scoring in injury time.
A well contested Reserve Plate Final meanwhile went the way of Stockport
County, who defeated Keynsham Town 1-0. A first half goal from Megan Bradley was
enough to give Stockport a hard earned victory.
Chorley maintained their eight point lead in the Northern Division after they
defeated Barnsley 7-2. Leah Collins, Debbie Price and Chloe Drury all scored twice along
with Taylor Howarth. Huddersfield Town lead the chasing teams as Macy Ellis (2), Sian
Gibrill-Keating, Laura Hulme and an own goal gave them a 5-0 victory over
Middlesbrough. Imogen Porteous-Williams hit a hat-trick, with Caroline Healy (2),
Beth Davies and Katja May also on target. Leeds Utd were 7-3 victors away to Liverpool
Feds, thanks to a Katie Astle hat-trick, Emily Sykes, Izzy Elliott and Lauren Richardson,
and Durham Cestria beat Bradford City 3-1 with goals from Poppy Pritchard (2) and
McKenzie Darrington.
Nottingham Forest are closing in on the runners-up spot in the Midland
Division after beating Lincoln City 4-2. Summa Betts netted a brace for Forest, with Bea
Hembrough and Cameron Farthing adding the others. Olivia Gaffney and Abigail Barham
each scored twice, along with Mathilda Finburgh and an own goal, for third place
Loughborough Lightning in their 6-0 victory over Solihull Moors, whilst the match
between Sporting Khalsa and Stoke City finished goalless.
Hashtag Utd must wait and see if they are to land the South East Division title
after finishing their matches with a 2-0 victory away to West Ham Utd, Amber Le-Beau
and Macey Woolcock scoring their goals. Defeat for the Hammers means that only
