Hengrove 1 Brislington 4
Oaklan Buck 35min, Jordan Ricke s 37min,
Jayden Nielsen 90 min, Jordan Scadding 90 + 4 mins
On Wet & windy evening we made the short journey to Hengrove. Perksy made changes
a er Saturdays defeat to Gillingham.
In came Ewins, Hemmings, Jones & Buck.
Tobin & Barwood we’re unavailable & Tucker & Macca dropped to the bench.
The home side started at a fran c pace and Dorrington was forced in to a point blank save
within a minute. The home side were winning everything across the pitch & we could not
get a foothold in the game.
A er 16mins the home side got their reward despite a Dorrington’s best efforts making 2
great saves the ball fell to a Hengrove player for an easy finish.
Within 2 minutes we had the chance to level. A Bris player was bought down in the box.
But Griffiths penalty was well saved to the keepers right.
On 25mins great work by Ewins down the right who put the ball across the 6 yard box but
no one could get on the end of it. From the resul ng corner Buck fired over
10mins later we broke again the home side failed to clear the ball which fell to Buck to
finish from close range. His 1st since his return to the club.
1-1
37mins and we found ourselves in front from a corner the ball fell to Ricke s whose shot
was turned in for an OG. 1-2
A er a slow start we got to HT 1-2 up.
The 2nd half started with the rain driving down making condi ons difficult for both sides.
It took us un l 62min to create a chance Buck went through to see his effort saved the
rebound found the hardworking Dodimead whose effort was put wide by a defender.
2mins later Buck had another effort which went over.
It took us un l the 81mins to get another chance sub Macca got at the home defence only
to see his effort come back of the post.
On 90mins sub Nielsen broke from the midfield got into the box & finished well to make it
1-3.
With me nearly up Scadding made it 4 when his effort crept over the line and the goal
being awarded by the assistant referee.
FT 1-4 a hardworking display in tough condi ons against a Hengrove side that gave us
another tough game.
