View from the dugout

It seems an age since we played out last home game which was December 7 . In that me
                                                                    th
we have narrowly lost 1-0 at Tavistock with numerous players missing. We then travelled
to Plymouth Parkway and lost 3-1 in another tough game.

We then travelled to Buckland and in an entertaining game which had 2 red cards, 3 sin
bins, a missed penalty and Perksy being sent to the stands we came away with a well
       deserved 1-1 draw.

Before we travelled to Cribbs last Saturday we had secured the signings of Goalkeeper
George Dorrington and Striker Lewis Ellington.

Ellington made his debut coming in for Niekell who was on holiday for a month. Youth
team keeper Ben Payter who has been in decent form since stepping upkept Dorrington
on the bench. We were also missing Peart, Barwood & Greenslade.

Even though Cribbs were s ll in shock following their manager resigning 2 days before the
game we knew it would be tough as all our games over the last few seasons have been.

The start of Storm Ciara was evident with a strong wind blowing. The first half was a ght
affair with both sides struggling to create chances in tough condi ons. Our best chance fell
to Ellington who done all the hard work and stumbled at the crucial moment with the
keeper out of posi on and the goal gapping. HT 0-0

We started reasonably well in the 2 half and were star ng to push the home side deeper.
                                   nd
The new front two of Ellington & Box were working well together and were star ng to
       become a handful.
The break through came a er 65mins when Fear’s hard work down the le was followed
by a great cross to the back post, Box had peeled away from his marker and put his header
in the far bo om corner.
We made the game safe when Payter’s clearance was picked up on the le by the
impressive Ellington who made space and put a lovely ball into Tristan Plummers feet, who
then created space for himself and put the ball in the top corner to secure us the 3points.
Today we welcome high flying Hallen who convincingly beat us 5-0 earlier in the season.
Hopefully they will find a more resolute Bris team who have not led down for anyone in
       the last 4 games.

On Tuesday we face our nearest neighbours Keynsham Town in the rearranged Boxing Day
fixture before we travel to Westbury next Saturday
