KEYNSHAM TOWN LADIES 3
Manager’s Notes
Another home game today as we entertain local rivals
Portishead, who will have had a very short journey from
North Somerset.
Our opponents sit just a couple of points above us, having
played one fewer game, so in theory this should prove to be
a very close encounter.
Thursday’s game against Swindon Town was an entertaining
event for the neutral. From our point of view we should
have had three points, conceding the equaliser by Swindon
just five minutes from the end of the game. It again
illustrates that we need to improve game management and
concentration for a full 90 minutes.
Yet again, it was another refereeing horror show, with the man in the middle blowing
his whistle for a foul on our player as a 25 yard shot was on its way into the top corner
and that after just two minutes. Then, Swindon scored when the player was three
yards offside and the referee and linesman miles away from the action. Once again
it warranted a low mark on the MOAS reporting system. When will we get the quality
of officials that is warranted at this level of play.
In the coming week we have our Somerset County Senior Cup Final against
Bridgwater on Thursday evening at Street Football Club. For once, we are drawn as
the home team and so we will not have to change our kit and will get the home
dressing room.
We will remain the underdogs in this fixture against higher league opponents,
although Bridgwater appear much less successful than they were earlier in the season.
Today, our Reserves travel to Portsmouth and it is good to hear that Amber Coates
will be making her debut in that game having rejoined Keynsham after a spell at
Portishead.
I am sure that everyone appreciated the great
atmosphere that the U14 Panthers and the Children
from Christ Church primary created on Thursday
evening. We hope to do something similar in the
match next Sunday, when St Austell are our visitors.
