Elementary School ICT Scope and Sequence 2004-2005 Implementation Summary
• The ICT Support teacher should work with the PLC Panning groups. This way all teachers at the same grade level will know what other teachers are doing. If all teachers are doing the same things they can support each other. Also, the ICT Support Teacher will be able to identify the needs of the groups to make sure they achieve the ICT Scope and Sequence.
•
In the past, achievement of the ICT Outcomes was a hit and miss process. Maybe all teachers were teaching the same skills, using the same software... to teach students. The decline in the results from grade 4 to grade 6 may be attributed to less challenging computer tasks. They need to learn new techniques. Other fea- tures of the popular applications like Word and PowerPoint must be regularly introduced. Again, the ICT Scope and Sequence will help the school to ensure learning progress from one grade level to the next. The ICT Support Teacher will oversee progression of skills between grades through regular communication with teachers.
