How parents rate their children’s access to computers and computer technology skills
•Parents this year were unanimous in their satisfaction in the relevance of computer technology skills being acquired by their students. This compares favorably from the previous year’s positive response of 93%. Parents satisfaction with their child’s access to computers showed a 7% increase at from last year’s 90%.
•A continuous and deliberate effort to keep parents up-to-date with student activities in computer technology would keep this healthy satisfaction rate next year. It might also be helpful if we create opportunities where parents are asked to collabo- rate with their children in IT projects that can benefit all of them.
•It should also be noted that the implementation of Students Achieve involved the pro- vision of inservices, mail out of printed manuals and maintenance of an FAQ web link for parents. These efforts did not only encourage parent involvement in their child’s academic progress but also boosted the school’s image as being pro-active in technology.
