Our students must complete high school equipped to think critically and creatively; possessing strong intrapersonal and interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively across all media and to various audiences; capable of solving new problems collaboratively with their counterparts around the globe; and able to apply new knowledge to authentic contexts. Our students need to have an entrepreneurial mindset - to be self-sufficient - to be lifelong learners who can adapt to new environments and identify and integrate technology in purposeful, creative ways.
LeaderShift 2020 is about getting beyond the status quo. It’s about the courage necessary to promote the essential educational change that our students need and deserve, but which, in many respects, is being denied. LeaderShift 2020 is about an unwillingness to accept instructional practice commensurate with the Industrial Age—a mission to transform learning environments to those that serve to prepare our students for their lives and work in a most complex, unpredictable, and ever-changing world. LeaderShift 2020 is about a significant educational paradigm shift and the collaborative leadershift needed to move beyond our Industrial Age schools that reflect the modern times we live in.
