2.7 District Level Staff Technology Development Programs
The District and Schools will allocate human and financial resources to the implementation of the District Technology Plan and District Staff Technology Development Program.
2.7.1 A District Technology Staff Development Program Plan will be developed annually to meet the needs of teachers as identified in the District Survey (see Action 1.1.2) and by the School Teacher Technology Leaders.

2.7.2 The acquisition of technology skills will become part of an individual’s Professional Devel- opment Plan as appropriate. By Dec. 2000
2.7.3 A committee comprised of certificated teaching staff representatives will develop a list of appropriate technology skills required for teaching staff positions. By Feb. 2001
2.7.4 All staff will attend District-wide PD to acquire skills in the information and Communication Technologies.

2.8 School Level Staff Technology Development Programs

2.8.1 The School Level Staff Technology Development Program Plan will be developed to reflect the identified technology needs of: By Dec. 2000
• the School students; By Sep. 2001
• the School Community; By Sep. 2002
• the School staff;
• the School Technology Plan; and • the District Technology Plan.
2.9 Support Staff Technology Training
Support Staff will have appropriate technology training to help them to effectively perform their responsibilities.
2.9.1 A committee comprised of support staff representatives will develop a list of appropriate technology skills required for support staff positions. By Oct. 2000
2.9.2 Training programs for support staff will be part of the District Technology Inservice Pro- gram Plan. By Jan. 2001
2.9.3 The acquisition of technology skills will become part of an individual’s performance evaluation as appropriate to the job description. By June 2001
2.10 Technology Training Centre(s)
District staff, teaching and non-teaching, will have appropriate technology training to help them to effectively perform their responsibilities. A Technology Training Centre(s) will be established and/or designated to provide new and ongoing computer and information technologies training and inservice opportunities.
2.10.1 A Technology Training Centre(s) will be established and/or designated for training and inservice, as needs arise, in areas such as: By Oct. 2002
• curriculum integration such as:
• Alberta Learning Information and Communication Technology
student outcomes.
• software demonstrations, samples, pilots, and testing such as;
• LXR*TEST Testbank Program • hardware;
• the Internet such as
• Internet management tools • Web Page Design;
• previews;
• pilot and experimental programs; • simulations and
• demonstrations.
