 4.9 District, School and Staff Level Technical Support Improve- ments
Technical support requires improvements in the level of service to meet the technical support requirements of Students, Teachers, Support Staff, and Administrators and their response time
needs. In addition, the mode of operation needs to move into a more proactive mode of operations that includes: planning, scheduling, monitoring, evaluating and budgeting in advance.
4.9.1 Establish the District Web Site and include an annual evaluation. Develop and improve the District Web Site with an emphasis on: By Sept. 2000
• Evaluate By Jan. 2001 • Evaluate By Jan. 2002 • Evaluate By Jan. 2003
4.9.2 Provide ongoing management, maintenance and development of the District Web Site. By Sep. 2000
4.9.3 Add a technical support “Frequently Asked Questions” page to facilitate providing ’routine’ technical support solutions to District staff. By Sep. 2000
4.9.4 Review and improve technical support services by developing an approval and priority process in the areas of: By Sept. 2000
• project implementation;
• costs for hardware repairs;
• work requests implementation; and
• school based support.
4.9.5 Improve communications between District technicians and clients by such actions as: By Sep. 2000
• provide on-site written information on work performed and/or deferred to the school level ‘contact’;
• regular and periodic communication with school level ‘contacts’; and
• communications with clients on work requests on receipt giving estimated completion,
updates and completion.
4.9.6 Develop and pilot a Three Level Technical Support Model with a view to improving techni-
cal service levels. This area will require appropriate training and support at the: By Sep. 2000
• Staff level;
NOTE: Staff will be provided with ‘routine’ hardware and software technical level support training and skills
• School level;
NOTE: Continue the School Level Tech. Integration Lead Teacher Position designated in each School. This Position will add the responsibility for ongoing ‘routine’ on-site
hardware and software technical support.
NOTE: The School Level Technology Integration Lead Teachers will be the main contact for technical support services at the school level.and
• District level.
NOTE: See section 4.1 for District Level Technical responsibilities.
