6.2.3 A new District Technology Steering Committee will be created with representation from: By Sep. 2001
• Teachers;
• School Administrators;
• the District Resource Centre (proposed, see Action 3.1.1 in Goal Three: Library and Learning Resources Support);
• Facilities Services;
• Finance;
• Support Staff; and • Curriculum.
6.3 School Level Management and Planning
Schools will create, renew and manage a School Technology Plan to maximize the educational im- pact and use of our information and communication technology investments in an effective, effi- cient and systematic manner. These school plans will be linked to the District Information Technol- ogy Plan and the Education Plan and revised annually.
6.3.1 Each School will create a Three Year School Technology Plan based on the District Technology Plan goals, actions, policies and guidelines and the unique needs of their School. The first school plans will have a time frame of 2000/2001 to 2002/2003. By Feb. 2001
6.3.2 A simple School Technology Plan Template will be created or acquired
to facilitate School Technology planning, updating and sharing. By Oct. 2000
6.3.3 Inservice and advice will be available to assist Schools in creating their School Technology Plan. Sharing of school ideas and planning developments. By Oct. 2000

The main function of this committee would be to advise and assist the Director
of Technology in the implementation, monitoring, evaluation of the implementation and the annual revision of the District Technology Plan. In addition, specific tasks will be completed with the assistance of District staff and/or Departments and/or standing and/or ad hoc committees.
This committee should be no more than 5 - 9 members including the Chairperson, who would be the Director of Technology. The membership should include a repre sentative from each school.
This committee would be small and meet frequently, perhaps 10 - 15 times per year.

Lakeland Catholic was one of 20 school district chosen to participate in the eMerge one to one laptop project. The district also worked with the province to coordinate professional develop sessions throughout the three year project.
