WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
st
FRIDAY 1 MARCH
ST MARK’S CHURCH, HERSTON
at 11 am
‘I beg you, bear with one another in love’
The Christian Women of Palestine are calling us to connect with
the land from where Jesus came; where he was born, ministered
and died – and from where our faith began. Despite living in an
area of the world where there is ongoing conflict and the future is
very uncertain, the women of Palestine are sharing in love, a
reminder that they are still there, and they want to give hope to
everyone. The theme of the service 2024 ‘Bear with one another in
love’ seems very appropriate for these women who will not give up
sharing the love of Jesus Christ. World Day of Prayer is an
international, inter-church organisation which enables us to hear
about their hopes, concerns, reconciliation work and prayers in the
Middle East.
This was all meticulously prepared, translated, printed and
distributed long before the current conflict which started after the
th
massacre by Hamas in Israel on October 7 . This year, the World
st
Day of Prayer falls on Friday 1 March, 2024. The theme for the
2024 World Day of Prayer is “I Beg You… Bear With One
Another in Love” (Ephesians chapter 4 verse 1).
The WDP is celebrated on this day in over 146 countries. It begins
in Samoa, then prayer in native languages travels throughout the
world - through Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the
Americas before finishing some 38 hours later.
Please save the date and join us at 11 am that day at St Mark’s
Church, Herston.
All are very welcome as the event is for both men and women and
you have the option to stay also for a light lunch if you choose.
Additional parking is available that day at the Baptist Church
across the main road.
