Summer Gala Concert raises

a fantastic £1,100 for the

Trevor Chadwick Memorial

Following the incredibly successful summer Gala
Concert, which was hosted by local celebrity
Karen Grant, funds of £1,100 were raised which
were donated to the Trevor Chadwick Memorial
Trust.

The formal unveiling and dedication of the
statue will take place on Monday 29th
August at 3pm on the Recreation Ground
immediately adjoining the newly renamed
Trevor Chadwick Play Park.

The Trust have been able to contact three of the
grandsons of Trevor Chadwick who have jointly
agreed to carry out the unveiling ceremony.

Other dignatories will be attending and the
Swanage Town Band will play from 2.30pm.

John Corben, Chairman of the Trust, said: "We
are really delighted that, after two and a half
years of planning, the statue will be unveiled,
which will be a fitting tribute to an unsung local
hero.' John added that the Trust were extremely
indebted to the community for their tremendous
support for this important project.

'Artisans at the Market' is held on the first Friday of
every month from 1st April to 7th October

from 8.00 a.m. until approximately 1.00 p.m. in
