Ministerial Vacancy Update

This is to let you know that the Vacancy Group, which involves
members of the Purbeck and Poole Pastorate – Swanage,
Wareham and Skinner Street, have been working very hard over
the past few months preparing the Profile ready for advertising the
minister’s post.

The Profile was completed on 4 June after a number of
amendments and tweaks and was submitted for approval to the
th
SW Area Pastoral Committee in time for their meeting on 10 June.

The Pastoral Committee were happy to accept the Profile subject to
a few additions to the Summary. The Summary is the first
document which potential applicants will see. This has now been
done and we await the SW Area Pastoral Committee declaring the
vacancy and submitting the Profile to the Synod Ministries and

Learning Committee on 24 June.

The Moderator has arranged to meet with the Vacancy Group on

July 1 before he takes the Summary to the Moderators’ meeting
th
on 3 - 4 July.

It feels a long drawn-out process and Emily and I had hoped to be
able to share the completed Profile with you by now, however, until
the vacancy has officially been declared, the profile is still
confidential.

We are almost there and we will certainly give you all further news
when we receive it.

A big thank you to Jim for collating the information from all three
churches and compiling it into a booklet ready for distribution.
