The URC graveyard -

coming back to life!

Using the skills, enthusiasm and imagination of
local volunteers, and thanks to funding from
Wareham Town Council, Sustainable Wareham
are transforming the graveyard behind Wareham
United Reformed Church (opposite Sainsbury’s)
into a space that’s respectful to those buried there,
a wildlife haven and somewhere people can enjoy a quiet stroll.

Over the past six weeks, our 15 amazing volunteers have shared
tons of expertise, enthusiasm, knowledge and no small amount of
sweat, to understand the graveyard’s secrets and begin to plan
how to make the transformation.

Working within the rules needed to protect monuments, creatures,
plants and people, our brilliant bunch have already mapped the
