1. “Ultra Electronics boosts US navy ties with $235m Sparton deal”
“British defence specialist Ultra Electronics has reached a $234.8m deal for loss-making US company.
Sparton. Ultra said on Friday it had entered into a conditional merger agreement with the New York-listed
Sparton which values the company at $23.50 a share. Rakesh Sharma, Ultra’s chief executive, said the deal
would preserve the company’s “status quo” agreement with the US Navy. Sparton is the joint venture
partner with which Ultra has made underwater sensors used to track submarines for over a decade.
