Trattoria in Swanage. But he still wasn’t done! And, after retiring
again, he volunteered on the Swanage Railway in the Catering

Buffet car and, when that became too much, he worked in the
shop.

He remained sociable and active for as long as he could, enjoying
trips with Swanage Disabled Club.

Luci loved his work and he lived to work, but he found time to enjoy
life too. He loved his cars – he had a gold Cavalier and, of course,
a Fiat (Italian!), but he was a terrible driver – rarely getting out of
second gear and scaring his passengers rigid!

He loved television – dramas, Strictly, comedies - particularly
Fawlty Towers. He truly appreciated the British sense of
humour. Maybe he picked that up from Olive who had a great
sense of humour and always saw the funny side of life.

Luci loved dogs. He and Olive had their beloved dogs, Honey,
Lady and Mandy and Mandy particularly was a great comfort to
Luci after Olive passed away. He also adored his ‘granddogs’,
Violet and Monty, Bob and Fran’s dogs, particularly Violet the
dachshund.

He also really enjoyed his food – although if Bob asked him where
he’d like to go out for a meal – “Come on Dad, we can go
anywhere”, he’d always want to go to KFC or McDonalds!
There’s nothing one can say!
