WURC, work, work!
September onwards is going to be especially busy for us at
Wareham URC.

Our much-valued grant money has arrived which means we’re in
serious planning mode for a new kitchen. The existing space will be
completely refurbished, to include a dishwasher, freezer (don’t
have either of those at the moment!) and a fully functioning cooker.
Felicity is planning it all, chatting to contractors, kitchen suppliers
and others about what’s required. The refurb will take place from

Dec 10 to early January and means that from February 2026, we
have the facilities to offer 2 new Lunch/Brunch Clubs to those
most in need in Wareham. To help inform us of the demographic
with the greatest need we’ve been working with health, social care
& voluntary sector partners. We’re also planning a “Wall of Thanks”
for all who’ve helped (including
those in the congregation / com-
munity who “Fork out for a Fork!”)
and a Launch event in the Spring.

decided the rest of the premises
needed a bit of a clean and brush
up. The Big Clean and Clear

Day took place on Sept 13 with
a cluster of pinny-clad, marigold-
gloved enthusiasts wiping
window ledges, removing clutter
and generally making everything
sparkle! We just have to keep it
like that for the next few months.
