My favourite script, adapted from the Rex Ambler original script for an FWCC World Plenary

Meeting in Peru, 2016, takes the EwL instructions into practical areas such as the growth of the
Light within us and its employment in the world.

But the EwL is to do with more than finding peace and light and truth. It is also an
encouragement to use the light to solve problems and to find a way to act in the world in loving

         ways.

Then the EwL invites us to ‘see one another and the unity we share.’ That’s not so easy, is it?

Personal enlightenment is one thing but having compassion for everybody else can be a bigger
         challenge.

It tells us to ‘wait patiently in the Light, as a gardener waits for seeds to germinate.... Allow
         yourself to be changed.’

Perhaps the reason that most of us in the group have been attending the group almost every

week for nearly two years is that we feel that it is helping or sustaining our growth and positivity.

After that we are asked to ‘see the world in the Light.’ It is tricky enough to love all the members

of our own family and community, and now we are being asked to ‘see the world and our place in
it from a new perspective,’ a compassionate, light-filled perspective. That challenges us to have
a national and even an international perspective.

‘In the light walk and you will shine’ is the final instruction. Imagine that, we Quakers being

shining ones, going through our daily lives spreading the light! Isn’t that what George Fox and
the early Quakers did, hoping to create a heaven on earth?

If you would like to join us for an EwL session, just click on the open Area zoom link on a

Tuesday morning a little before 10.30am. We look forward to your company.
