A Time to Remember
I sit here thinking of the memories I hold of the
past, from my childhood to the time we were wed.
I see our first child as I held him in my arms the first
time, to the day he graduated from college.
I see the day he went off to war, and the knock on the
door when he was killed in action.
Holding on to the memories is all I have left in life to
keep me going. To the day I rest, it’s the memories
that are etched into my soul.
Key to My Heart
I see you standing there as I walk down the
street. Our eyes meet, and I know you are the one.
We were just children, yet our bond lasted a lifetime.
Now as the years come upon us, we can reminisce
about the past, for you have held the key to my heart.
