BMW X2
While the X1 and X2 are only available with peppy, turbocharged gasoline engines,
those interested in hybridized power can take their pick between the X3 or X5—the two
longesttenured, and perhaps most versatile, models in the range. In addition to offering
hybrid drivetrain options, both the X3 and X5 are also available in absolutely ferocious
M versions boasting 500 and 600 horsepower, respectively. However, there lies an
entire spectrum of ways in which to configure both the X3 and X5 in terms of power,
luxury, and taste.
Even more enticing for some are the even-numbered X4 and X6. Both still offer the
practicality, space, high seating position, and safety one comes to expect from an SAV,
while turning up the wick on style and performance. Both the X4 and X6 limit the
available powertrains to the more powerful variants, equipped with either one or two
turbochargers, and between four, six, and eight cylinders. The M renditions carry more
than enough engineering wizardry to embarrass many a dedicated sports car either at
the drag strip or any highway off-ramp.
