What’s in
a name?
DESPITE THE SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND
HEALTHCARE upheavals our world has
experienced over the past year, life has
continued nearly unchanged for the three
rapidly-growing Malayan tiger cubs at the
Palm Beach Zoo’s Club Braman-sponsored
immersive habitat.
With each passing day, the three cubs
hone their natural skills as they freely
roam throughout the 13,000 sq ft habitat
built specifically to replicate their wild
environment. Of course, that doesn’t mean
the zoology team has missed the opportunity
to provide some other “enhancements” to
their habitat.
Last fall, pumpkins were shared; followed by
a palm frond turkey in November, Christmas
presents in December, and other various items
for them to play, tug, and swing from in between.
Most excitingly, the Zoo hosted a fundraising
auction in mid-February, where three of the
items available to bid on were the opportunity
to name each cub. The three winning donors
and their submitted names can be found on
the Zoo’s website and social media pages!
Plans are already in the works for future enhancements, including the construction of a
third habitat. To learn more and make a donation to their efforts, visit PalmBeachZoo.org.
