Welcome to our 2020 Sustainability Report. 2020 proved to be a defining
year globally in many ways than we could have imagined. As crude oil
prices dipped (price hovered around $20 per barrel by Mid-March) and
energy demand waned globally, it became necessary for us as an
organization, to rethink and alter our business plans and strategies in
order to survive the covid-19 crisis. A fall-out from this was a heightened
clamor for energy transition and a conscious almost urgent move away
from the use of fossil fuel to cleaner sources of energy like renewable
energy.
There is still a lot of work to be done, but by far our resilience and
commitment to success made 2020 a year where we turned our
challenges to opportunities and an avenue for sustainable growth and
development.
As the pandemic raged, our country and indeed most countries in the
world faced a health crisis as never before seen in recent times and
brought to the fore the integral role the private sector plays/can play in
fostering collaboration and results between itself and the government.
