CURRICULUM
The curriculum on offer in every school is determined by the
Department of Education and Skills and the National Council for
Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA). Our vision in a CEIST school
is to offer the broadest curriculum possible to give the maximum
opportunity to each and every child.
Our schools have huge ambition for our students and are
determined to create, support and nurture the most positive
environments where students can flourish. This includes promoting
active student participation in decision-making, clear expectations
of exemplary behaviour and ensuring that students become the
very best versions of themselves.
At Junior Cycle, students prepare and present classroom based
assessments, emphasising communication, literacy, numeracy and
digital technology, in a forum which is always acutely mindful and
supportive of the wellbeing of our students. Building capacity and
instilling confidence in our students is a constant objective.
At Senior Cycle through Transition Year , Leaving Certificate Applied,
the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme and traditional
Leaving Certificate students have access to the very best opportuni-
ties to progress to Third Level, Careers of choice and of course to
have a commitment to lifelong learning.
A rich curriculum including Modern Foreign Languages, the Sciences,
new subjects at senior cycle such as Physical Education, Politics &
Society and Computer Science are readily available and ensure our
students are to the forefront in terms of choice. Career Guidance,
Learning Support, Attainment Tracking are core elements of provi-
sion and link beautifully with our Pastoral Care systems and of
course our close relationships with parents and guardians.
