For all students the CEIST education experience will help your child to

engage positively with people of all religions and none. It will prepare your

child to have a strong sense of social justice. It will foster a sense of positive

self worth and support your child to be a young person who values respect,

          tolerance, integrity and justice.

          What about Special Education Needs?

Individual education needs can occur at any stage in a students path through
education. We collaborate with parents to provide the optimum resources for

our students. An individual learning plan can be developed for a student with

diverse learning needs or disability. Where necessary we assist in the

identification of needs or continue a support which might have already been

established at Primary level. Subsequently we implement a learning plan
which helps students to identify their learning goals. We facilitate referrals to

education psychologists and other agencies and we also complete

applications for reasonable accommodations in State exams, where this is

considered necessary and beneficial for our students.

What about parents who want to continue to educate their children

          through the medium of Irish?

We are conscious that this is an important consideration for parents choosing

their children’s second level education. With this in mind, our school in

Dunshaughlin/Gorey will have an Ionad Gaelach. This means that children

educated in primary schools through Irish can continue to be educated

through Irish, if they wish, for the duration of their post primary education.

In addition, in all of our CEIST schools, we pride ourselves in the rich and

varied ways we celebrate our Irish language, traditions and heritage. We do
this through History, Irish, Geography, Music, Art, PE and RE classes. But we

also do this through so many of our extra-curricular activities and clubs as

well for example sport, drama, debating and competitions or comortais.

For those parents and students who opt for the Ionad Gaelach we will

support you in that decision and encourage your child to stay committed to

          this choice.
