THE BiTS INTERVIEW: TINSLEY ELLIS
Tinsley Ellis (born June 4, 1957) is an American blues and rock musician, who
was born in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, and grew up in South Florida.
His career has featured both his vocal and guitar skills an he has made more
than 20 albums and spent the pandemic lockdown enhancing his songwriting
skills. He has just released “Naked Truth” an entirely acoustic album
Ian McKenzie spoke to him at his hotel in Atlanta whilst he was on tour.
TE: Hello.
BiTS: Tinsley?
TE: Hey, Ian, how are you?
BiTS: Hello, I'm fine, thank
you, and thank you for
agreeing to speak to me.
TE: My pleasure. What time is
it over there?
BiTS: It's 3:30 in the
afternoon.
TE: Oh, not too bad.
BiTS: There's only four hours’
time difference between us at
the moment on the East Coast
because we haven't changed
our clocks yet. They don't
change until the coming
weekend.
TE: That's right, that's right.
Let me turn the TV off. I was
watching the news about our
ex-President. So let me turn that off here because I don't want to be distracted and it's very
distracting today. Today's a big news day. All right, there it goes. Goodbye. Goodbye, Mr
ex-President.
BiTS: [Laughing] I want to talk to you, Tinsley, about your career thus far and, of course, about
the new album, if that's okay?
TE: Yes, very nice.
BiTS: Tell me something about how you got into music in the first place. Was there a lot of music
in your house when you were a kid?
