was given to me by Buddy Whittington, which has got the label on it, Worry Be Gone. It's a kind
of worry be gone stuff that you put on yourself.

GN: Yeah, I actually make that stuff at home with a certain collection

of herbs that I use and a stone elixir that I soak a stone for a while to
take on the vibration of the water and then I combine the elements of
Worry Be Gone spray and bottle it up at my home. I take it to shows. I
haven't really sold it to try to make money from it.

BiTS: [Laughing] Well, I have to say it's very nice.

GN: Yeah, yeah. I hope you enjoy it and get some use out of it.

BiTS: Now tell me about one more song on the album, ‘All That Makes
Me Happy Is The Blues’. Absolutely terrific song. I love it.

                                    GN: Oh, thank you.

BiTS: What made you write that?

GN: It was written with my friend Tom Hambridge, who produces
                                    Buddy Guy’s records.

BiTS: Yes, I know Tom Hambridge.

GN: Yeah, and at the time, Buddy was about to record again, and we
had written many songs for Buddy previously and that was an idea I
had had for a long time, and I decided to take it to Tom to co-write with
him because I thought it would be a good song for Buddy. Buddy
recorded it and had Eric Clapton guest on guitar on it with him. It was
    a fun thing to do.

BiTS: Absolutely. Yeah, I love the song, love the sentiment as well. Now there's one artist that
you've recorded extensively with, which would be remiss of me if I didn't mention it, and that's

Delbert McClinton. Tell me something about the songs that you've written for Delbert. Is he an
    easy person to write for?

GN: Yeah, we've co-written 35 or 40 songs that he's recorded, and I produced five records for
Delbert and two of them won Grammys for best blues recording of those years, and I count Delbert
as my best friend. I speak to him daily. He lives not far from me, and we go to lunch all the time,
and he's now retired from performing.

    BiTS: I understand that.

GN: I've done a cruise with him for the last 27 years and this year will probably be his last
performance on a cruise. He's agreed to do one performance on the cruise this year, but Delbert’s
been an incredible influence in my own music making life. I love his mixture of country and
rhythm and blues rock and roll. I consider him to be one of the very best exponents of rock and
roll from the source, the combination of country music and blues.

BiTS: Absolutely fabulous stuff.. One more question. Is there somebody in the pantheon of singers
in the USA that you would like to have written for but never did?

GN: Someone in the USA, that's a singer that I wish I had written for, but I haven't. I guess it would
be interesting to have a song recorded by Bruce Springsteen. I think he's a really great songwriter
and I know that Delbert has performed with him some, and also my friend Joe Ely. Joe and I have
written some together and Joe is friends with Bruce, and I know the bass player Gary Tallent that
