co-produced, engineered, mixed and mastered the album. I really enjoyed this
album and saw a different side to Laurence Jones and I strongly recommend you
    give it a spin.

                                          A Different Thread—Over Again—Independent Re-
                                          lease

A Different Thread are a transatlantic folk duo consist-
ing of Robert Jackson from the UK and Alicia Best from

the US. Now having finally put down roots in North
Carolina USA, A Different Thread have released their

                                          third studio album, “Over Again”.

The album opens with the title track ‘Over Again’ a nice

folky Americana vibe. ‘Sorrow Brings Me Joy’ is a nice gentle tune whilst ‘The
Prophet’ has a more country feel to it. There is a strong drumbeat underpinning a

driving electric guitar on ‘Sweet And The Burn’. ‘Always Leaving’ is a little more
bluesy with some nice harmonica accompaniment from Robert Jackson, quite liked

    this one.

‘Come On Home Molly’ is another Americana style tune and Robert Jackson takes
over lead vocal duties on ‘Goodbye Muddy Waters’. Alicia Best takes back the lead

vocal on ‘Columbine’ and reminds me a little of Suzanne Vega. There is some more
nice harmonica accompaniment on ‘Amaranth’ and ‘Deep Water Fish’ has an alt-

country vibe to it. The album closes with ‘Leon’ a song of searching and dreaming.

This album has been well put together with all of the instrumentation well played

and gently blended to compliment the songs. The strength of “A Different Thread”
lies in the gentle vocals of Robert and Alicia that harmonise so well together.

On the downside I have to say this is not really my bag and there is not much for the

blues fans out there although they may like the Alt-country and Americana that

threads through this album. Although the album is well produced overall my main
criticism is that all the songs were the same pace and lacked dynamics which made
things sound ‘samey’ after a while. Anyhow, go give it a spin and see what you think.
