CS: I called the album “Midnight Blues” because it’s so universal, no matter what’s getting us
down, it always hits us the hardest in the middle of the night. And so, although this song is one
particular story, we all get the midnight blues. All the songs on the album follow suit, in that it’s
all stuff we can relate to. Like my live shows there are songs to dance to and songs to cry to, but
they will all make you feel something.

LL: What about the
musicians and crew who
contributed to Midnight
Blues? Who are they and
how are you connected
to them?

CS: The album was
produced by my long-time
collaborator/guitar player
Dewayne Strobel. We’ve
been playing music
together for 20 years and
married for 19! We had
Dave Roe on bass, who has
played with Johnny Cash,
Yola, Cee Lo Green and the
list goes on and on. I met
Dave when I was playing Broadway in Nashville, he watched me grow up! We also had Peter
Keys on keys who tours with Lynyrd Skynyrd, and we are just big fans of his talent! We also had
a very special guest sing backgrounds on the title track, our 5-year-old Zhaawande Strobel! Which
I guess she was 4 when we recorded her part. She also co-wrote the song “Walk With The Moon”!

LL: What can your fans look forward to coming up for you?

CS: We’re back on the road and will be all over Canada and the U.S. in 2023, and we’re already
starting on the next album.
