BiTS: When you’re on tour, do you take a lot of instruments with you? Do you just travel
with one guitar or two guitars? How does it work?

IS: These days I know so many people with good stuff that I borrow what I can. This tour, I
actually bought one on eBay or whatever it was and had it delivered to the first UK gig
[laughing] and it came out of the suitcase. It was an old 50’s Silvertone guitar. It came out of
the guitar case, plugged it in and it’s perfect. Everything else I borrowed. I ran into Alvin
Youngblood Hart. We did two shows together and he had about eight guitars or something.
It cost him a fortune in shipping, and he said he was leaving some here for next time. He’s
not doing that again.
