Chapter 1 MARKETING 29
Company Portfolio:
This will be an important marketing tool used in arranging banking needs,
developing a business plan, or to be included with proposal pre-qualifications and
certain presentations.
The Company Portfolio should include the following:
Introductory letter outlining the companies formation, services provided, owners names, key
staff and also the main goals and objectives of the company.
Business associates including your Accountant, Lawyer and other Professionals.
Affiliations or memberships in recognized Associations, Service Clubs.
Reference listing of suppliers, trades and professionals.
 Testimonials from completed projects.
Completed project listing including Owners name, project type, year completed, project size.
Due to the personal nature of the information included in this particular Portfolio format, we
do not recommend the indiscriminate distribution of this item. Including this type of Portfolio
information with your proposal submissions, other than the completed project listing and
testimonials, should only be done when absolutely necessary. Remember that this is not your
Marketing Brochure. Most Design-Builders will not provide this detailed type of information to a
prospective client. Having this information readily available, should credibility become an issue,
will certainly be advantageous. Most prospective clients will favor a Design-Builder that can
substantiate his proposal offer, and sales effort, with the credibility information included in this
type of Portfolio.
