STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE Research Administration SOP No: A006 SOP Title: Ongoing Trainings
1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this standard operating procedure (SOP) is to define the development and provision of training for ongoing skillsets and competencies for a clinical research coordinators (CRC) or clinical research associates (CRA) in research administration (RA) made by the team leads.
2. INTRODUCTION
Ongoing skillsets and competencies are defined as the “knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to meet the requirements of the job. There is a focus on problematic aspects of the job, new technologies, and high-risk activities.” As ongoing skillsets and competencies are redefined annually upon review of new regulations, policies, processes, and technologies, leadership will develop a training plan in order to empower all employees to meet newly established expectations. The team should complete the training, use the supporting resources available to them, and seek opportunities to gain direct experience on the competencies and skillsets in order that they will be able to perform to the standards defined in the Performance Excellence Accountability for Children’s Health (PEAC) metrics.
3. SCOPE
The development and provision of training is a shared responsibility of the leadership and clinical education team. Role-specific training is defined in the training plan, provided by RA, and is expected to be completed by the team.
4. RESPONSIBILITIES
