5. SPECIFIC PROCEDURE
5.1 Development of the Training Plan
In response to the annually updated competencies and skillsets, a training plan will be developed. Planning meetings should include the director, team leads, and educator (see SOP A003):
1. Schedule a meeting in outlook with the director, team leads, educator, and administrator:
a. Open Outlook Calendar.
b. Select a date and time for the meeting 1 or 2 weeks prior to the new annual cycle.
c. Use scheduling assistant to confirm the attendees’ availability.
d. Send the outlook invitation to all required attendees.
2. Prepare a meeting agenda:
a. Define a supporting training plan to the initial and ongoing competencies for the CRC and CRA roles.
i. What are the new competencies and skillsets and what resources are available to train to them?
1. What changes to the regulations of FDA and the applicable governing agencies should be considered?
2. What changes in UTSW and CHST policies should be considered?
3. What changes in policy, technology, and access to resources are relevant?
ii. Define the items that require training.
iii. Define how the training will be carried out and validated.
iv. Define how the training comprehension will be assessed.
v. Define the expected time course, schedule of the training offerings, and the expected due date.
5.2 Provision of Training & Resources
Ongoing skillsets and competencies are expected to be learned and fulfilled within each annual review cycle. The RA provides a multitude of resources and training opportunities in order that the team is empowered to fulfil their job expectations. There are two training forums within RA beyond the resources required and available through Cornerstone, a learning database of Children’s Health System of Texas (CHST) Learning Institute.
