RA offers a more global survey of clinical research by the clinical educators. “H.O.T. for Research are Hands-On Trainings for Research. It is geared towards those who are not necessarily new to Research on our campus, but would like additional information on performing Research- centered tasks. There are two types of offerings [for H.O.T. for Research]: classes (focusing on what is required, and why) and training sessions (focusing on how and when).” Additionally, the educators help to plan the allocation of resources for the RA team to pursue certifications, participation in professional trainings and conferences, etc.
Exposure to first-hand experience as it relates to the competencies and skillsets is not always available through a team member’s immediate study assignments. Therefore, the team leads encourage the participation of the team members in the CST group in order to pair employees together for the opportunity for experience on all required competencies and skillsets.
5.3 Documentation of Training Fulfilments
Upon completion of training, the team leads are responsible for documenting attendance, certificate of completion, or documentation of fulfil for all training requirements or ongoing professional development. The majority of the training completion is documented in Infor. Additionally, competency check-offs for Coordinator Skillsets are completed by the team lead and team member and the documentation is filed in the team member’s file along with the education record that is maintained by the team member and provided at the annual PEAC Evaluation.
