The application process begins with the submission of the LOI. The LOI must contain the name of the principal investigator, title of the study, a one-paragraph description of the study (no more than 250 words), and a list of all faculty participants and sponsors in the study.
The Research Administration Coordinator, compiles the LOI roster on an Excel spread sheet. This spread sheet captures the following information: applicants name, degree and specialty; category of application; study title; date LOI was received; mentors and collaborators.
5.4 Application Requirements
Each category has different application requirements which are specified below.
5.4.1 Applicants applying for the Fellow Research Scholar Award must be a Fellow in good standing at the time the award would commence and clearly bound for an academic career. The quality of the research and the environment in which the research is being conducted should represent a clear step towards an independent research career. Projects that are seen as mere extensions of the fellow’s mentor, without establishing a pathway towards independence for the Fellow, will not be given a high priority.
Fellows must be members in good standing of the Children’s Medical Center House Staff and must have at least one year of fellowship remaining.
