SOP Title: Children’s Clinical Research Advisory Committee (CCRAC)
Applications receive a primary and secondary review as well as a statistical review. Once all reviews have been submitted to the Medical Director, all reviewers meet to debrief and make final suggestions on which applications will be awarded funding.
5.6 Award Notification Process
All applicants will receive a letter from the Medical Director regarding funding status. Those applicants who do not receive funding also receive a copy of their reviews.
Notifications are sent as soon after the review process as possible.
5.7 Duration of Funding
For CMC Fellow and Early Career applicants, the project time frame will be two (2) years, with possible continuation upon submission of required reports and a competitive application justifying the extension.
For Senior Investigator applicants, the project time frame will be one (1) year with a possible continuation upon submission of required reports and a competitive application justifying the extension.
Requests for an extension must be made to the Medical Director at least 90-days before the original award period ends.
5.8 Reporting
Investigators receiving awards will be required to submit a progress report at completion of the first twelve (12) months and a final report at the completion of the award period, year two. Continuation of the funding is contingent upon satisfactory completion of the report. If extensions are requested and approved, the grant recipient must submit an update in the form of the twelve (12) month report prior to the expiration of the extension.
Reports should be sent via email to the Medical Director and a copy to the Research Administration Coordinator. Reports should be submitted in a timely manner but no more than 30 days after the end of the funding or extension period. A written request to extend the reporting deadline must be made to the Medical Director prior to the report due date. Failure to comply may result in termination of the award.
5.8.1 End of Year One report
The PI must submit a maximum of three (3) pages containing a description of the progress made since the beginning of the funding. The investigators should indicate how this progress relates to the specific aims of the proposal, listing any unexpected problems that may prevent completion of the aims in the period designated by the original proposal, and a financial statement of expenditures.
Plans, and an updated budget, for the second year of funding should be included. Failure to provide this completed report will disqualify the PI from future awards.
5.8.2 Final report
The PI must submit a maximum of three (3) pages outlining 1. the findings of the study
as they relate to the original aims, 2. publications (submitted or in draft), 3. grant
