Greetings,


                                            Welcome to the 75  Anniversary program of the Rocky Mount Alum-
                                                              th
                                            nae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

                                            The  Chapter,  chartered  on  April  4,  1947  as  Gamma  Kappa  Sigma,
                                            continues  to  build  on  the  legacy  of  sisterhood,  scholarship,  service,
                                            and social action. We are appreciative, yet aware that we shoulder the
                                            challenge and awesome task of perpetuating the legacy. That legacy
                                            began January 13, 1913 on the campus of Howard University by our
                                            22 Founders and continued in 1947 here in Rocky Mount, North Caro-
                                            lina  by the 21 Charter Members of Gamma Kappa Sigma.
                                            The theme, “Anchored in Service: Preparing RMAC for the Next
                                            75  Years,” reflects our commitment to continuous growth, develop-
                                            ment and support to initiatives that strengthen the citizens in the com-
                                            munities of our service area - Rocky Mount, Edgecombe County and
                                            Nash County. Rocky Mount Alumnae Chapter has offered programs
                                            in Delta’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development,
                                            Educational  Development,  International  Awareness  &  Involvement,
                                            Physical  & Mental Health,  Political  Awareness  &  Involvement,  and
                                            programs of National Arts and Letters Commission. We are proud to
                                            present such a wide array of opportunities for citizen engagement.

                                            We salute the recipients of the inaugural “RMAC  Community  Ser-
                                            vice Excellence Award.” This award was created to recognize an in-
                                            dividual, a business, and  an organization in our service area that use
                                            their time, actions, talents and dedication to make significant contribu-
                                            tions to the community. The Awardees model compassion and service
                                            as they work to make life better for all of us.

                                            We are grateful to you - Rocky Mount, Edgecombe and Nash Coun-
                                            ties - for supporting us for 75 years. We remain committed to you as
                                            we continue to implement the legacy of public service of Delta Sigma
                                            Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
