❖ A brief overview of the project
Project Title – Creation of Annual Rate Contract (ARC) for
procurement of Industrial gases for 3 manufacturing sites of
RIL.
I had to interact with different buyer team(RIL teams operating
rd
from Jamnagar & Hazira), vendors (3 party) and my own
P&C(procurement & Contract) team, and come up with the
quantity of different industrial gases (total 251 kinds of gases
were there) that might be required for the next year through
demand planning. Then I had to get offers/quotations from
vendors and then do negotiations on the pricing and timelines
of product supply. I had to document the whole process in a

form of SOP, such that the rate terms can be used for 1-2 years.
Legal part of contracting was not in my scope. Similarly, I was

assisted for negotiating with vendors, by the team.

GENERAL INFORMATION ❖ How is a normal day at the Internship?

❖ What are the challenges faced during Internship?
1. Proper idea regarding what was the expectation of my manager for this project. Since the project was
divided into various phases, I was not clear of my target.
2. Managers would be higher-ups who would be typically busy, and hence getting their time for guiding us for
our project would be bit difficult. But in RIL, our managers would guide us within the limited time and would
try to clarify most of our queries.

3. Interaction with 3 party stakeholders – This proved challenging as vendors were reluctant to share
information with me, since I was only an intern. But within 2 months, I could create a little rapport with 2-3
vendors over continuous interaction.
