PPO Diaries
❖ A brief overview of the project
My project revolved around Manufacturing Excellence
which is the core competency of Exide. Driving
manufacturing excellence through process improvements
by better capturing of shop floor data and transition of it
into decision making was the deliverable. Also apart from
this I was given the responsibility of formulating Corporate
Risk management document for Industrial Batteries
division.
❖ How is the normal day at the internship?
Company culture was a normal 9-5 job. I used to discuss the
work done on previous day with the team who then guided
RAJAN KUMAR me with the shortcomings. Every 14 days I had a meeting
EXIDE with my mentor who would give a broader perspective of
the project and expectations for the next week or so.

GENERAL INFORMATION ❖ What are the challenges faced during Internship?
The team with whom I was working was very supportive
Batch: PGDIM 25 and helped me with all the understanding the business of
the organization. They explained me clearly regarding
BTech: Birla Institute of expectations from the project. Major hurdles were faced in
getting out data from various departments. People in
Technology organizations are reluctant to share data due to privacy
concern. Getting prior hands on advanced Excel and
Work Ex: 20 months
Tableau would definitely help interns. Preparing
presentation skills also helps convey your message in an effective manner. So Powerpoint skills are also very
important.
❖ What did you do right and what did you do wrong?
Right: Kept myself updated with exact expectations of mentor
Regularly had a talk with mentor and team regarding my progress
Reached out to various departments to gather data
Attended every day of Summer Internship without any fail with punctuality
Wrongs: Did not have fluent skill on Advanced Excel, Tableau
Could have reached out to more fellow batch interns who were doing similar project
