ISA COORDINATOR’S REPORT
Festivals are the vibrant colours of life. They relieve children from the burden of
the monotonous studies and routine and provide them the much needed
rejuvenated break. The ISA project on Festivals aimed at teaching children the
importance of festivals and their role in strengthening social and moral fabric.
The celebration of festivals taught the children that festival is not just all about
wearing good clothes, meeting people, giving gifts and having fun but it’s
actually the sense of belonging, the connect that we all feel while celebrating a
festival. Festival is actually celebrating the spirit of mankind.
The children were made to celebrate festivals of their own country as well as
other countries as the project also aimed at inculcating in children the value of
national integration and world peace. The happiness that the students derived
while celebrating festivals cannot be measured in words. They were not just
celebrating festivals but celebrating life.
Vibrant colours and shades play an enduring role in children's life. The teacher
in-charge of the project ensured that while making decorative articles, the
children learnt art and craft and developed various skills. As the little toddlers
manipulated paintbrushes skilfully, their fine motor skills improved. By counting
pieces and colours, they learnt the basics of math and developed their co-
ordination skills. The children dabbled and experimented with materials and were
made to think out of box. This empowered them to develop their imaginative
skills. Most importantly, their confidence was boosted. The ISA project on
festival was in a way nothing less than celebration of festival.
May each day bring in the life of every child festive joy and happiness.
