The power lines running along the street sag from the poles.
At the junctions illegally attached cables run off in several directions.
On the roof of the VILLAGE BAR, sits a rusty SATELLITE DISH.
A PICKLED GHERKIN and a PICKLED ORLANDO ONION come out,
helping their friend, a PICKLED WALNUT, who’s slightly
unsteady on his feet.
On a billboard a greasy CheeseBurger with a dodgy ginger hairpiece with the headline - ‘BIG MAC FOR MAYOR!’.
BABY VEGETABLES play with simple toys. A Hoop. A stick. A
plastic ball. A wooden scooter.
On a building site an old TURNIP struggles up a ramp with a wheelbarrow full of bricks.
Everywhere you look there’s poverty, hopelessness, despair
and ‘No Trespassing’ signs.
EXT. CARROT HOUSE - EVENING
A simple wooden shack with the obligatory corrugated iron
roof. GORGEOUS
INT. CARROT HOUSE - EVENING
CHRIS CARROT comes in to find his MOTHER, FATHER and SISTERS
all sitting on a worn out three piece suite, all glued to an
old box TV with a fuzzy picture.
MOTHER CARROT
Hey, our Chris, where have you
been?
CHRIS CARROT
Nowhere.
FATHER CARROT
Nowhere seems to be your favorite
place to go to these days. You must
take me along with you some time.
CHRIS CARROT
I just went over to see Gramps.
MOTHER CARROT
I worry about him getting lonely
out there on his own. How was he?
