GRAMPS (CONT'D)
Just as their ancestors helped them
in the past. We must have Faith.
CHRIS CARROT
The Great Spirit? But where is it?
GRAMPS
In all things. The air, the sun,
the moon and the wind. Mother
Nature has always nourished us.
What we put into the ground she
returns to us many times over.
CHRIS CARROT
But all I see is poverty and
despair. Without water our land is
dry and dead. And our people have
lost all hope.
GRAMPS
They may have given up, but you
must never lose hope. You must
remain strong and unwavering and
help will come. And have Faith that
our time will come. Always follow
your heart and remember, the rain
falls on the just and the unjust. I
had a dream and in my dream came a
message which said that one day GORGEOUS
soon we will once again have a
great leader, a leader who has a
great vision that we can all
follow, who will make us strong
again!!
EXT. VILLAGE - DAY
CHRIS CARROT, walks back through the village.
The main street is now no more than a muddy track full of potholes.
Every vehicle that rattles past looks like it’s on it’s last legs.
Old, beaten up rust buckets, held together with tape and
wire, coughing, spluttering and backfiring.
The homes along the street are now ramshackle mud shacks with corrugated iron roofs.
Every FRUIT and VEGETABLE we see looks like they’ve given up
and lost all hope.
