NARRATOR
To provide power for the city they
built the dam.
LATER Looming over the valley and casting a dark shadow is a
MASSIVE DAM where the Waterfall once flowed.
EXT. RIVER - DAY
Now, there’s no more than a trickle of water where there once
was a fast-flowing river.
NARRATOR
And our river dried up. And without
water there is no life. We were
left with nothing.
The lush valley has become parched and dry. The soil cracked
and dry.
The once idyllic village has become a sad Shanty Town of ramshackle, run-down huts.
EXT. VALLEY - DAY GORGEOUS
Tumbleweed rolls across the dry, barren dustbowl.
EXT. CARSON’S HUT - DAY
A whiskery old CARROT, GRAMPS, sits on his porch with his grandson, CHRIS CARROT, looking out over the valley.
GRAMPS
They have an insatiable hunger, an
emptiness they can never fill. The
more they consume the more they
crave. They can never get enough.
They’re ‘Hungry Ghosts’...
CHRIS CARROT
What can we do?
GRAMPS
We must have faith in the Great
Spirit who helped our ancestors in
the past and pray for help in our
hour of need. We must pray to our
ancestors to come to our help in
our hour of need.
