He takes a couple of photographs before moving on. He
continues past a terrace of windowless, red brick HOUSES.
Walks his bike along the street he saw from the hill. Houses made from breeze blocks with red and green roofs. A street
sign -- American Road. Through the trees he sees a CHURCH
TOWER in the distance. Starts towards it.
EXT. IMBER CHURCH - DAY
A narrow pathway leads up to the CHURCH, surrounded by a high fence. A sign on it warns - Out of Bounds.
He squeezes through a gap in the fence.
Reads a Memorial commemorating the villagers who fell in the Great War.
WOLFGANG stands alone in the GRAVEYARD, amongst the decaying headstones of long forgotten locals.
It’s totally silent except for birdsong and the buzzing of
bees.
The RAVEN flies off to a nearby tree near a hollow.
WOLFGANG follows it. GORGEOUS
EXT. HOLLOW - DAY
WOLFGANG sits at the side of a hollow eating one of the sandwiches he made earlier for his trip with Mum that never happened.
Followed by an apple.
When he finished eating it he casually throws the core into
the hollow.
BUT IT DOES SOMETHING VERY STRANGE.
IT DOESN’T LAND ON THE GRASS.
IT BOUNCES ON SOMETHING UNSEEN.
THEN STOPS. SEEMINGLY FLOATING IN MID-AIR.
WOLFGANG can’t believe his eyes.
He finds a small stone and throws it into the hollow.
