Abstract. Tinggong is one Acehnese rice variety because of its fluffier, good cooking taste and
involved as fragrant rice and good adaptability although under the limitation of water
availability. This variety is starting to be abandoned by farmers because of its long-life span,
low production, has high stems and is susceptible to bacterial blight (BB). Improvement of this
variety can be performed by crossing this variety with IRBB27 in which this variety confer both
of sd-1 and Xa-27 genes. Five genotypes of F4 rice progenies from crossing between Acehnese
rice variety ‘Tinggong’ with introduced rice variety IRBB27 were used in this research. The
research was conducted at Experimental Farm and Plant Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of
Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University from May 2019 to March 2020. Data were analyzed using
standard deviations. The plants were growth in growing media consist of 2:1 (v / v) soil and
manure. Xa-27 gene analysis were performed by taking the leaves sample at 14 days after
transplanting (DAT). Whereas, bacterial blight resistance analysis were performed by
inoculation of Xanthomonas oryzae strain IV and VIII at 15 DAT. Based on Xa-27 gene analysis
it show that, 43 plants (71,7%) from 60 samples of F4 Tg / IRBB27 inherited the Xa27 gene.
Then. 45 plants (75%) from 60 samples of F4 Tg / IRBB27 showed resistance to Xoo strain IV
and 51 plants from 60 samples (85%) showed resistance to Xoo strain VIII and 30 plants showed
resistance both to Xoo strain IV and VIII. There were 7 plants from 5 genotypes very prospective
to be developed further because of these plants resistance to both Xoo strain IV and VIII,
                                                                -1
estimated production from 6,3-9,4 ton ha , harvesting time from 108-116 days after sowing
(DAS) with plant height about 104-118 cm. These genotypes was T2 plants 10. T3 plants 12.
                              T10 plants 9, T18 plants 1,7,10. And T22 plants 3.
